What's Your Word of the Year?

Positive affirmations are so much more than simply feel good words.  They are a daily repetition, meant to uplift and encourage, whoever chooses to speak them. I believe in the power of words, which is why we hand engrave them on our charms.

I have chosen a word of the year, every year since we opened the store in 2012. The idea is, if you SPEAK IT, WRITE IT and BELIEVE IT, you will MANIFEST IT in your life.

The year I opened the store, my word was EMBRACE because I wanted to embrace the new journey that I had started.

This past year, My word was Alchemy which is the physical aspect of turning metal into gold.

Spiritually, it’s the practice of inner transformation by aligning your thoughts, feelings, and actions with your highest and most authentic self. The words encircling alchemy in the photo above are my reminders for this alignment .

Let's transform together this coming year... we rise by sharing our dreams and supporting one another as they come to fruition.

This year it’s TRAVEL. I hope I can get around to some actual travels to see friends and loved ones. I hope there will be plenty of live music, which is a journey in itself. And I landed a job in a bookstore, I’ve spent my whole life journeying through books <3

    Happy New Year!

My word is Reflect, such a strong word. To think deeply or carefully. This past year my daughter has expressed her depression and anxiety, which has made us reflect as a family and to be more mindful.

My word is Lucky. It may be faith, or fate, or destiny… but the devastating tornadoes in Western Kentucky missed me by two houses. I do have a broken window but I am a “Lucky” one!

My word for 2022 is inspired by a Joyia creation – “PATHWAYS”. This past year, my word was “transform” with the symbol of a butterfly. The abrupt passing of my father created a paradigm shift in my life. The stark reminder that we do not know the days we have on this earth left me with serious questions about how I spend my time – and how well I am living and embracing each day. I decided to identify the areas where I get caught up with insignificant matters and figure out how I can maximize my time here – for the good of others, my family, and myself. I spent time in deep introspection about my life, choices, relationships, things I want to change/keep, etc. Now that I have invested the time in transforming and renewing my mind, I plan to start walking it out via, you guessed it, new PATHWAYS. New choices. New ways to love others and live life well. I’m excited to take these next steps onto new pathways of thoughts and choices.
