Brin Goldman-Ray
Born and raised on the island of St. Croix, Brin Goldman-Ray creates artwork inspired by the vibrant spirit and color of her Caribbean home. With a master’s in counseling psychology and visual arts, Brin brings a unique emotional depth to her work, blending personal healing with creative expression.
Brin has always been passionate about creating art as a means of healing. After losing her mother to cancer when she was 15, art became one of her biggest healing modalities. Her artistic journey was further accelerated through healing in 2020 navigating both the pandemic and then her brother’s cancer diagnosis. She took time away from her studies and her counseling practice to focus on her art, and what had been a personal outlet quickly evolved into an art career worth pursuing.
Today, her impressionistic work captures the rhythms of life, the magic of the islands,
and themes of time, grief, and wonder. Each of Brin’s creations is infused with
movement and energy, drawing viewers into a visual dance of color, flow, and storytelling.
Beyond the canvas, she brings this same creativity to life as a live event painter,
transforming weddings, fundraisers, and parties into dynamic showcases of art. She
creates both individual couple portraits and offers guest portraits for her specialized events.
Brin continues to expand her reach while staying deeply rooted in her Caribbean
identity. She creates custom pieces and murals, but one of her favorite endeavors is
creating children’s books and coloring books that invite others—especially young
readers—on journeys through VI culture, imagination, and place. She has written and published two children’s books and three coloring books.
Brin hopes her work serves as a celebration of both the complexity of life and the beauty that defines the Virgin Islands.
